Each letter of our name, CEIPHERS, stands for one of the values of our company.
The first letter C, stands for Change … and is inspired by my life story.
Due to various hardships, I dropped out of college. As much as I wanted to finish school, God had other plans for me. After a few years of struggling, I didn’t like the person I was becoming. I wasn’t satisfied with mediocre jobs I was taking and I had no vision for my future. I met Rachel at the lowest point in my life. We sat on a fence in a park near our home and I was beating myself up, in a rage that things were so bad. She grabbed me with tears in her eyes and told me it would be okay and we would get past it. With Rachel showing her strength, it lit a fire under me and inspired me CHANGE into the man I am today. Which leads another value our list … Educate. But I’ll talk more about that next time.
So here’s the tricky bit. How do you know when it is time to change? Well, sometimes change happens only when you hit rock bottom … when you can’t get any lower. It smacks you in the face, like it did for me when Rachel grabbed me that day in the park. But more often than not, most of us simply deny the reality that we need to change. We look for someone else to blame for why things aren’t working.
You've probably heard the old saying, “The definition of insanity is doing things the same way and expecting things to change.” So ask yourself, are you doing things the same old way and wondering why nothing is changing for the better … or maybe why things are getting worse? If the answer is yes, it’s time to make a change.
Change is painful. Change is uncomfortable. But change happens every day … just look at how much technology has changed in just the last 10 years. Get excited about exploring the possibilities and the process of changing becomes a lot easier. Deny change if you want, but you’ll get dragged into the future kicking and screaming anyway. Why not embrace the change with joy and enthusiasm and see where it will lead you? When it came time for me to become a man, I had to make some serious changes in order to have the life I wanted to live in the United States. I started turning my thoughts into actions as I started my business. Look where it has taken me, Rachel, and our company, Ceiphers Clothing.
